CARLTON MELTON 'Turn To Earth" album announcement @ ECHOES AND DUST
As exquisite as Turn to Earth is, Melton are best appreciated as a live act: their recordings as well as their gigs are largely improvised – not so much composed as birthed. After the rockus interruptus of that 2018 tour and the tantric tease of the intervening Covid lockdown, Melton have some unfinished business. An October 2023 tour is poised to set the freshly minted quartet back onto the stages of Europe and within the cerebral folds of its fans.
Turn to Earth is released on October 6 2023 via Agitated Records and can be pre-ordered HERE

Carlton Melton announce 'resemble ensemble' LP due Feb 2023- The Obelisk-
Cali psychedelic space traders Carlton Melton hereby announce their new long-player, Resemble Ensemble, will arrive on earthly terrain Feb. 17, 2023, in cosmic alliance with Agitated Records. “Prescribed Skies” is both the opener and longest track (immediate points) from the offering, which finds the krautrock-informed, drone-prone instrumentalist trio working as a foursome after welcoming aboard guitarist/producer Anthony Taibi of the likewise undervalued White Manna, and to put it plainly, that’s a match that works. Pushed outside atmospheric confines by Andy Duvall‘s drums, “Prescribed Skies” is nonetheless meditative in a way that feels exploratory while sure of its own heading even if the listener ends up who the hell knows where and, indeed, who the hell knows when, how or why.

'microwavelengths' album premiere and interview- It's psychedelic baby magazine -
I hear elements of Bardo Pond and Skullflower’s heavy psych mixed with touches of Eddie Hazel style freeform fusion and intense noise rock all bounced around in your music. What actual musical reference points were you aiming for with ‘Microwavelengths’?
Andy: I don’t think we have aimed for anything, ever, in regards to making a record. There will always be subconscious influences; whatever any of us happens to be listening to- at home, or driving to work- leading up to the studio session. It could be Van Halen, it could be the Butthole Surfers. Win-win.

We Love You Junzo - benefit for Suzuki Junzo music compilation on bandcamp -
Everybody who meets Suzuki Junzo loves the guy. Everybody who has seen him live drops their jaw on the floor. So when this February he suffered a intracerebral hemorrhage and a subarachnoid hemorrhage everyone was very worried. Junzo is now in a rehabilitation hospital and unable to tour or record music. Proceeds from this compilation will all go towards helping him financially but we want this to do more than that. This album is also one giant get well card, a huge sign of love from the world to Junzo. We love you Junzo and we know you got this but we're all there cheering for you every step of the way.
